We now have three games in Week 17, and those three contests have decided a lot. The Chiefs clinched first place in the AFC playoff standings with a win against the Steelers on Wednesday, while that result, coupled with Baltimore’s victory, moved the Ravens into first place in the AFC North with one game to go.

And Thursday’s result means Seattle remains in the hunt for the NFC West division title. If the Rams lose – including the matchup between the teams in Week 18 – the Seahawks will win the division. If the Rams win this week, Seattle could still win the division by beating LA in Week 18, although they would still need a few other dominoes to get right.

There are many more interesting games to follow.

The Eagles are just one win – or a loss for Washington – away from clinching the NFC East, facing a Cowboys team on Sunday that won’t have star wideout CeeDee Lamb. Washington, meanwhile, faces a Falcons team that is fighting for both the NFC South title and a playoff spot.

The biggest game of the week will be the Vikings’ game against the Packers as Minnesota looks to keep pace with Detroit in the NFC North. Wins by both the Lions and Vikings would set up a winner-take-all game in Week 18, with both the NFC North title and the top overall seed in the NFC playoffs up for grabs.

In the AFC, the best remaining game of the week will be Denver vs. Cincinnati as the Bengals cling to their slim playoff hopes. The Bengals can only make the playoffs if they win, while the Broncos lose their last two games and both the Dolphins and Colts lose one more game each. That probably won’t happen this week as the Dolphins face the Browns and the Colts face the Giants, while next week the Bengals face the Steelers, the Broncos play the Chiefs, the Dolphins face the Jets and the Colts play the jaguars.

It’s a long road for the Bengals, but hope remains.
