Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman sends strong message on QB Taylen Green announcement

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman and his team got lucky this holiday season when Razorbacks starting quarterback Taylen Green made a big announcement about returning for next season.

It was the Christmas present the Razorbacks needed.

“He wants to be a pig, he wants to play here, he wants to play for state,” Pittman said, per On3.

“And that’s nothing against the guys who came into the portal. That’s not it. Their business is their business, but it’s a big deal to me that he wants to stay here and run it back and stay with Bobby and stay with this offense.” . I think it will be very big and useful for him and it will also help us in recruiting.

Green, a former Boise State Bronco, joined the Razorbacks just in time to play in the 2024 season. It was a good decision by Pittman. The Razorbacks and Greene had a close relationship during the season.

Green has added outstanding stats to his resume in just one year as a Hog than he did in his three years at Boise State.

In 2024, the QB recorded 2,813 passing yards and 13 touchdowns with nine interceptions – compared to 1,752 passing yards and 11 touchdowns with nine interceptions in the 2023 season with Boise State.

Green has one more year of eligibility. Arkansas is a team that admittedly has no problems, but is moving in the right direction. Maybe the Razorbacks brain trust could give him more weapons next season.
