According to the New York Times, the Los Angeles Chargers’ win over the Patriots cuts the Colts’ playoff hopes by 15%. Here’s how they can still make it to the playoffs:

Half of the math is pretty simple right now. Five teams have 10 wins – Buffalo, Kansas City, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and now Los Angeles.

The most games the Colts can win are 9.

Houston has 9 wins and the direct tiebreaker against the Colts. That’s six of the seven AFC playoff teams.

Denver is currently in last place with 9 wins. If the Broncos beat Cincinnati or Kansas City next week, the Colts are out.

Colts must win

As mentioned above, the 7-8 Colts need to reach nine wins to have a shot at the playoffs. They have to beat the Giants on Sunday and beat Jacksonville in the season finale.
