Vikings’ Sam Darnold finds Jalen Nailor for a 31-yard TD pass

MINNEAPOLIS – After a rocky start to a key NFC North matchup, the Minnesota Vikings ended up offside with a 31-yard touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to receiver Jalen Nailor.

One reason Nailor was behind the Green Bay Packers’ defense was because the Vikings’ two best receivers, Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, were running intermediate routes. It was Nailor’s sixth touchdown reception of the season in 36 total receptions.

The play gave the Vikings a 7-3 lead, an advantage they increased without once targeting Jefferson. Of Darnold’s first 12 passes, three went to Nailor, two to Addison and one each to TJ Hockenson, Johnny Mundt, Aaron Jones and CJ Ham.

It was Darnold’s fifth TD pass of at least 30 air yards this season and the first allowed by the Packers.
