Liam Payne: Five people charged in connection with singer’s death

In November, prosecutors said toxicology tests showed traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in Payne’s body.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be “multitrauma” and “internal and external bleeding” as a result of the fall from the hotel balcony.

According to prosecutors, medical reports also indicated that Payne may have fallen into a state of semi- or total unconsciousness.

Prosecutors said this ruled out the possibility of any conscious or voluntary act by Payne and concluded the singer neither knew what he was doing nor had any understanding of his actions.

Roger Nores spoke to US news outlet TMZ after Payne’s death, saying he was a “very good friend” of the singer and that they had spent time together on the day the star died.

He said Payne “seemed playful and happy” when he left him about an hour before the musician fell from the balcony.

After Payne’s death, police found substances as well as damaged items and furniture in his hotel room.

Hotel staff had already called emergency services twice to say it was a guest who had taken “too many drugs and alcohol” and was “trashing the entire room,” as previously reported.

Payne became one of the most recognizable names in pop after appearing on The

The singer’s funeral took place in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, last month.
