Did anyone win the Pat McAfee Field Goal Challenge in Week 13 in Columbus, Ohio?

ESPN College GameDay was live from Columbus, Ohio to preview all of Saturday’s big matchups, led by No. 5 seed Indiana and No. 2 seed Ohio State.

The last time Ohio State hosted College GameDay was in 2023 when the Buckeyes defeated Penn State 20-12. Participants on the ESPN College GameDay panel included prominent picker Justin Fields, who is currently the backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While fans always look forward to the pick segment of College GameDay, the most likely part of the show each week is the Pat McAfee field goal challenge. Every week, McAfee puts his own money on the line and gives a fan the chance to kick a field goal to win big money.

Last week we saw a Georgia Bulldogs fan split the uprights, but this week it wouldn’t be quite as easy. Carson, a freshman at Ohio State, entered in pajama pants hoping to make six figures. As Peter watched, Carson failed terribly.

McAfee then upped the money and gave him a second chance, this time for a total of $500,000, $250,000 to him and $250,000 to BuckeyeThon, a student-run charity at Ohio State. Unfortunately, this kick went even worse.

McAfee shared that he would still donate $100,000 to charity.

Ohio State and Indiana kick off at noon ET on FOX. The game, part of FOX Big Noon, has significant Big Ten Championship implications. The winner of this tournament will be in a good position as they will have to secure a spot in Indianapolis to play Oregon with one week left in the season, while the loser will be left out and hoping to continue their hopes of winning the conference title.

At this point, both teams are expected to be in the 12-team College Football Playoff field.
