San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy was left late after apparently suffering a right arm injury in the 49ers’ Monday Night Football loss to the Detroit Lions.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan then gave an initial injury update on Purdy, revealing that the 49ers quarterback had departed after suffering a right elbow injury.

That’s the same elbow where Purdy tore his ulnar collateral ligament in the 2022 NFC Championship Game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Shanahan said Purdy’s status for the 49ers’ season finale at Arizona on Sunday, Jan. 5, is now uncertain.

According to ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, Shanahan said it was initially believed that the injury was not serious and that Purdy was simply hit in the wrong place, causing some nerve problems.

Purdy will need further testing tomorrow to confirm it is not a long-term issue and his status for the season finale against the Arizona Cardinals remains uncertain.
