The Cleveland Browns’ difficult times at the quarterback position continue. It feels like the Cleveland Browns have been looking for a quarterback since Bernie Kosar retired in 1996. The Cleveland Browns traded for Deshaun Watson in March 2022, giving the Houston Texans three first-round picks to acquire Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson has been plagued by off-field issues and injuries since arriving in Cleveland, the most recent injury being a torn Achilles tendon.

Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson saw flashes but didn’t show the potential to be a potential starter in the NFL as Deshaun Watson’s replacement. The Cleveland Browns need to find a potential starter/backup quarterback who is ready to start and can play until Deshaun Watson can return from injury.

Driving into Columbus via Interstate I-71, Ohio senior quarterback Will Howard leads the Ohio State Buckeyes in the new 12-team College Football Playoff format. Will Howard and the Ohio State Buckeyes dominated the Tennessee Volunteers 42-17 at home in the first round of the College Football Playoff in Columbus and will have a rematch in October against the Oregon Ducks, where Will Howard and the Buckeyes won 32-31 lost this year.

Will Howard is the veteran quarterback who has played in big games that can solidify the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback room in the upcoming NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns could use a second-round or third-round pick to sign Will Howard and establish a quarterback of the future, something the Cleveland Browns haven’t had in decades since Bernie Kosar retired.
