Tony Khan makes important AEW announcement

Tony Khan once again has a big announcement for AEW fans.

January 1, 2025 is a big day for All Elite Wrestling in more ways than one. New Year’s Day marks not only the sixth anniversary of the promotion’s launch, but also the start of the new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, confirmed in late 2024.

Beginning in 2025 with a Fight For The Fallen special episode of Dynamite to help those affected by Hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina, which will also be simulcast on the MAX streaming service. The first episode of Collision will air on January 4th.

Khan announced this on social media and it will take place between NJPW Wrestle Kingdom and the first-ever Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view Everything is fine for fighting on Saturday night will once again be the opening theme for Collision:

Alright For Fighting by Elton John Saturday Night is back for 2025!

The hit Elton John song was the original theme for Collision when the show launched in June 2023. In July 2024, the theme was changed to “Red Light Is On (Let’s Go)” by Omega Sparx and Mikey Ruckus. Aware of the backlash from fans, Rukus stated that he knew the new song would be “universally hated” and that no one could replace Elton John.

The current lineup for the January 4 collision is as follows:

  • Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Mark Briscoe – Singles match for the TNT Championship
  • Private Party (c) vs. Lio Rush & Action Andretti – Tag Team Match for the Tag Team Championships
  • Toni Storm vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Tony Khan answers the critics

All Elite Wrestling had a mixed year in 2024. While the match quality was good and shows like Revolution and All In had impressive viewership numbers, the weekly TV viewership and ratings were not that high. When asked about the criticism, Tony Khan reacted strongly.
