Bayern’s late draw: injury concerns for Kane and Kim before the cup thriller | sport

Caught the draw, but at what cost?

Bayern fought back to a late 1-1 draw against Dortmund and avoided their first league defeat of the season.

But there are injury concerns about the stars Harry Kane (31) and Kim Min-jae (28) – and of all things before the cup thriller against Leverkusen (Tuesday, 8.45 p.m.).

In the first half, Kane has to go down first: the Englishman sits down on the floor and has problems with his back right thigh. It quickly becomes clear: Kane can’t continue, veteran Müller replaces him (32.)

Sports director Eberl after the final whistle: “He noticed that there was something in his thigh.” But he also said that it wasn’t that bad – that was a precautionary measure. We can’t actually say anything until tomorrow when we know what it is.”

Kane is going to the MRI this Saturday evening, the striker announced that himself in the mixed zone.

And Kim doesn’t look quite fit either and is replaced with a bleeding eyebrow cut (80th).

The celebrated hero, on the other hand, is once again Jamal Musiala (21).

85th minute: Sané shoots a free kick into the BVB wall, Süle remains completely dazed. The rebound lands at Olise, who crosses smoothly into the Dortmund penalty area and finds Musiala there – who heads in for the celebrated equalizer.

There are brief protests from BVB that the game will continue despite Süle being hit in the head. BILD referee Thorsten Kinhöfer: “It is at the referee’s discretion whether and when he blows the whistle if he hits the head.” Classic debutant Jablonski decides to let play continue – and Musiala equalizes.

Musiala on “Sky”: “It was a very good cross, I wanted to hit the ball well.” I’m very happy, even compared to my last header goal at the DFB, I’m even more proud of it here because of the technique.”

Musiala magic!

In the second round, it is always the offensive magician who causes the attacking sensation. Once he finishes powerfully himself (59th), once he serves Müller in an exemplary manner – who misses the best chance up to that point (49th).

The fact that Bayern is dependent on Musiala for their next sixth goal of the season is due to Borussia’s next strong home performance.

BVB boss Lars Ricken recently said publicly at the general meeting: “We want to win, we will win!”

And the plan almost works.

BVB is focused right from the start and is not unsettled by Bayern’s initial pressure phase. The defense is solid – even though summer newcomer Anton has to go down injured early (18th). The central defender hurts himself from a long hit and then has thigh problems. Süle comes in for him (played in Munich from 2017 to 2022).

Then the BVB ecstasy!

Jamie Gittens takes on the whole of Bavaria: The wing speedster leaves Laimer completely standing with a great trick, then slams the ball past Neuer into the box (27th) – with Dortmund’s first finish of the game.

WHAT A GOAL!

Bitter for Neuer: The goalkeeper is playing his 512th Bundesliga game, drawing level with Uli Stein in 10th place on the all-time record list. Among the goalkeepers, only Oliver Kahn and Eike Immel made more appearances (557 and 534 respectively). But he is powerless against the Gittens hammer (102 km/h).

With the Kane shock and few chances of their own, it’s a weak first half for Bayern.

It wasn’t until after the break that the league leaders really got going – and fought for a deserved draw.
