No. 4 Penn State welcomes Maryland to Beaver Stadium for Senior Day: Live updates

FIRST QUARTER

3:00 p.m.- Maryland won the toss and moved it into the second half. Penn State starts with the ball.

STATE UNIVERSITY – Penn State and Maryland have taken the field to complete the 2024 regular season.

The Nittany Lions and Terrapins will kick off at Beaver Stadium at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.

Penn State is 10-1 and ranked No. 4 in both the AP Poll and the College Football Playoff rankings, setting the Lions up for a home playoff game if all goes as planned further down the stretch. Fans’ eyes will certainly be on the Michigan-Ohio State game after kickoff at noon. If the Wolverines pull off the big upset over the Buckeyes, Penn State could book a trip to the Big Ten Championship game.

Maryland has struggled mightily this season with one Big Ten win and an overall record of 4-7. The Terps have some questions about whether starting quarterback Billy Edwards will play and how good he will look if he leaves. That’s significant because despite Maryland’s struggles, the Terps lead the Big Ten with 289.6 passing yards per game. Wide receiver Tai Felton leads the conference with 1,097 yards.

Stay tuned throughout the evening for notes and updates.

-Michigan and Ohio State are tied 10-10 at halftime. #CloseGameWatch is in full swing. UPDATE: The teams remain tied well into the fourth quarter…

– The Big Ten availability report has been released and Penn State is once again without cornerback Elliot Washington II. Wide receiver/punt returner Kaden Saunders is also out, meaning the former four-star won’t play an offensive snap in the regular season. It’s questionable whether Harrison Wallace III will start on the outside linebacker. UPDATE: Wallace was in uniform and announced as the starter in the video introductions, but he was NOT at the first team warm-up.

– Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. is questionable for Maryland. He didn’t warm up with Maryland’s quarterbacks before kickoff.
