The Notre Dame football receiver makes a “familiar impact” in crucial time.

Jordan Faison has a lot to offer and offseasons with Notre Dame football. Entering the playoff game against Indiana, he had 16 catches this season. He posted almost half of that number against the Hoosiers.

Faison is one of those guys who seems to shine brighter when everything is at stake. Against IU he had 7 catches for 89 yards. He also had a great kick return. And Irish coaches understand that that he has the goods.

“I often tell you that sometimes statistics don’t tell you how much of an impact someone has on a game,” the Notre Dame football head coach said Marcus Freeman recalled Listeners followed the Irish’s victory over Indiana in the first round of the College Football Playoff earlier this month.

Notre Dame football needs Jordan Faison to rise again

“The wide receiver position is so important to understand that he can 100 percent go out and have a catch, and you get the impression that maybe he had a catch, but the reality is that every single catch did exactly what he was supposed to do today.”

“Obviously you see what he can do with the football in his hands,” Irish offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock added. “You have to give him some opportunities to make plays.”

Denbrock expected Faison to make an impact as a receiver.

“That’s obviously the vision and a need, a huge need,” he said. “The explosiveness he adds as another element to our offensive performance is critical and it was great to see it on display against Indiana. And he did a great job.”

Notre Dame football needs him to do another great job on Wednesday night.
