Team news: Rice returns as one of three substitutions | Team news | News

Mikel Arteta has made three changes to his squad for today’s Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The manager has turned things around again after being in charge just three days ago as we started 2025 with a win against Brentford, moving Declan Rice and Jorginho into midfield while Martin Odegaard drops to the bench. The Italian is captain of the team.

Thomas Partey deputizes for the suspended Jurrien Timber at right-back, while Leandro Trossard gets the chance to shine against his former club and Gabriel Martinelli hopes to make his 200th appearance for the club without a substitute.

Kai Havertz remains sidelined by the illness that saw him miss the win in west London three days ago, but Ethan Nwaneri gets another start in the league after impressing against the Bees on New Year’s Day.

Gabriel will now play in the Premier League for the 150th time.

Brighton have now made three changes to the team that drew 2-2 with Aston Villa in their last game. Captain Lewis Dunk is missing, Igor Julio is expected to move to central defense and the returning Pervis Estupinan will be deployed at left-back.

On the other side of defense, Joel Veltman replaces Tariq Lamptey at right-back, while Matt O’Reilly is preferred over Julio Enciso in midfield.
