Arkansas lineman Landon Jackson struggled off the field against Mizzou

Update: Early in the second half, SEC Network reporter Alyssa Lang said Landon Jackson had movement in his extremities and was talking. She said Landon Jackson was taken to MU Hospital for pain in his neck, according to Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek.

Arkansas Razorbacks defensive lineman Landon Jackson was carted off the field late in the second quarter of Saturday’s college football game in Columbia, Missouri.

The game was stopped with 1:07 left in the second quarter after Jackson collided with teammate Doneiko Slaughter. The collision occurred while tackling Missouri running back Jamal Roberts.

A cart was brought onto the field for Jackson and an ambulance arrived at the edge of the field. The action did not continue for about 10 minutes.

Many Arkansas football players knelt on the field as Jackson was treated by the Arkansas medical team. Missouri football head coach Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri cheerleaders were also seen kneeling while the stretcher and wagon were on the field.

Before the injury, Jackson had five tackles against Missouri. Entering the Missouri game, Jackson led the team with 6.5 sacks and had 44 tackles this season.

At the start of halftime, SEC Network broadcaster Taylor Zarzour said, “All of our thoughts right now are with Arkansas’ Landon Jackson.”

Mizzou entered the match 8-3 overall and 4-3 in the SEC. Most recently, Missouri defeated Mississippi State 39-20 on November 23rd. Arkansas entered the contest 6-5 overall and 3-4 in the SEC. On November 23, Arkansas defeated Louisana Tech 35-14.

Missouri leads the all-time series 11-4 against Arkansas on Saturday.
