How much snow has fallen? Check out snow totals in the middle of a winter storm

A massive winter storm devastated much of the country over the weekend, burying many Midwestern cities in several inches of snow before spreading to the Mid-Atlantic region on Monday, causing widespread school closures and dangerous travel conditions.

The NWS said the storm will move from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic on Monday, with “significant travel delays” and “severe impacts” expected in parts of West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and Delaware.

“An additional 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected in the Mid-Atlantic states, including the Washington DC metropolitan area,” the weather service said Monday, adding that another 2 to 4 inches was likely in parts of the Ohio Valley.

According to snowfall reports from the National Weather Service, states west to Colorado and Wyoming and east to Delaware saw snow in the past 24 hours.

According to the NWS, some areas around Kansas City, Missouri, reported up to 12 inches of snow, with Kansas City itself seeing about 10 inches of snow.

According to the NWS, snowfall of up to 9 to 12 inches was reported in St. Louis Monday morning.
