Paying attention during a long awards show can be difficult—just ask Dax Shepard.

When the actor attended the Golden Globes on January 5, he strategically positioned his phone so he could watch an NFL game during the ceremony, and his wife Kristen Bell caught him in the act.

In a video shared to Bell’s Instagram Story, Shepard can be seen sitting at her table, looking down, as Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford announce the Best Picture (Animation) nominations.

Shepard cleverly placed his phone between his legs to silently watch the Detroit Lions play the Minnesota Vikings during the awards ceremony.

Bell loved the sneaky moment and added the hashtag #priorities to the video.

The actor supported his wife, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) for her role in the Netflix series “Nobody Wants This.”

In the end, Jean Smart took home the award for her work in “Hacks,” but Bell and Shepard still had a fun evening. On the red carpet, Bell dazzled in a metallic strapless dress and Shepard looked dapper in a black suit.

The couple has proven their good sense of humor in the past. In October 2024, Bell shared her husband’s hilarious reaction when he saw her steamy kissing scene with her Nobody Wants This co-star Adam Brody.

“I was watching the first episode with my husband and he grabbed my arm and said, ‘I want you to kiss him so bad,'” she said during her appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”

“He taught you that,” host Jennifer Hudson said with a laugh.

“Yes, yes, yes, he loved it,” Bell replied.

In September 2023, the mother of two revealed the key to her marriage to Shepard in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight”.

“Common goals, look for them. “Our children are a common goal, right?” she said.

“People say, ‘Oh, I couldn’t work with my husband, my wife or my partner,'” she added. “For me, I would like to have another common goal with him. I really respect his creativity. I have so much faith in him. Of course I want him to be my director or my scene partner.”
