Ryan Seacrest proves to be a worthy successor to Pat Sajak as host of Wheel of Fortune and he prepared thoroughly for his role.

President of Sony Game Shows, Suzanne Prete spoke to the L.A. Times about the 50-year-old TV star’s entry wheel and gave insight into his preparation.

According to Prete after American Idol The presenter was hired, he wanted to understand the game inside and out – so he requested videos of past shows. How she told him Just In an article published on Monday, January 6, Prete noted that she was willing to send him 50 episodes, but he wanted to see all 8,000.

“He said, ‘No, I want to see every episode,'” Prete recalls.

Ted Harbert, a former network executive and friend of the former Live with Kelly and Ryan as hoststold the outlet that Seacrest wanted the game to be almost instinctive for him to allow room for error.

“He wanted the rules to come naturally to him,” remarked Harbert. “He didn’t want there to ever be a question.”

According to the outlet, the show’s executive producer Bellamie Blackstone even flew to Miami to prepare with the Emmy winner, bringing a tabletop version of the game with her and going through many possible scenarios that could arise.

Prete told the network that Seacrest was a natural for the job: “When he walked on set, it was like he’d been doing it his whole life.”

“Wherever I’ve worked, sometimes the producers would come and bring contestants and we’d play Wheel of Fortune in hotels to familiarize ourselves with the rules, scenarios and things that can happen, so that eventually it becomes second nature. ” he shared.

Seacrest also stated that he was on board immediately after being offered the role.

“This is such an incredible, special franchise. It’s more than a TV show. It’s something that means something to people, and when I found out this was an opportunity for me, I didn’t give it a thought. “It was absolutely, ‘let’s figure it out and get going,” he shared.
