2025 AP College Basketball Poll: Complete Week 10 Men’s Rankings Released | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

Bleacher Report

Tennessee remains the No. 1 team in the country and tops the Associated Press Top 25 poll for Week 10.

The Volunteers improved to 14-0 on the season and opened their SEC campaign with a commanding 76-52 victory over No. 23 Arkansas. Senior guard Chaz Lanier scored a game-high 29 points, while senior forward Igor Miličić Jr. posted a double-double (13 points and 18 rebounds).

The top five also remains unchanged after the start of conference play did not cause any major surprises.

That’s not to say there weren’t momentous results last week.

West Virginia finished 2024 on a high note, defeating Kansas 62-61 in a game that went down to the wire.

With the Jayhawks trailing by three points and 16 seconds on the clock, senior guard Zeke Mayo scored inside despite a foul. He sank his free throw to tie the game, only for the Mountaineers to have their own chance at charity in the final moments.

Flory Bidunga bit on a pump fake from Javon Small and fouled the West Virginia guard with just 1.8 seconds left. Small missed his first free throw but hit the second to put WVU over the top.

Two nights later, Illinois started 2025 in style with a 109-77 win over No. 9 Oregon.

The Fighting Illini led by seven points at halftime and outscored the Ducks by 64 points in the second half. They shot 57.5 percent from the floor during the game, including 16 of 29 from long range.

Junior guard Tre White had 20 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Guard Kasparas Jakučionis and forward Ben Humrichous also combined for 34 points.

The offense was just as big as Kentucky earned a big win over Florida last Saturday at Rupp Arena, ending the Gators’ undefeated start.

The Wildcats fell behind by 11 points in the first half but turned around and built a 10-point lead by halftime. The Gators knocked on the door midway through the second half but couldn’t find a breakthrough.

Great Britain maintained and beat their third top 10 opponent during the Mark Pope era.

All five of Kentucky’s starters scored in double figures, while Koby Brea had the hottest hand off the bench. The senior guard shot 7 of 9 from distance en route to a 23-point performance.

Florida wasn’t the only SEC team to fall 13-0 on Saturday, as Oklahoma got a bit of a reality check thanks to Alabama. The fifth-ranked Crimson Tide earned a 107-79 win in Tuscaloosa.

The Sooners were completely overwhelmed inside, allowed 56 points and lost the rebound battle 51:26.

“They hit us on the glass,” head coach Porter Moser told reporters. “When we did it, they got it back. I just thought the difference on the offensive glass was a big deal.”

The Tide grabbed 22 offensive boards, which they converted into 25 second-chance points.

The bad news for Oklahoma is that it hosts No. 10 Texas A&M next and the Aggies are averaging the seventh-most rebounds (42.8 per game) in Division I.

Saturday shook up the AP poll a bit more, as No. 15 UCLA and No. 16 Cincinnati both fell.

It was a difficult result, especially for the Bruins, as they moved up seven spots in the Week 9 rankings with a 65-62 win over Gonzaga. Now they are back where they were before.

The Bearcats, meanwhile, fell out of the Top 25 overall after back-to-back losses to get Big 12 play underway.

There are numerous big games coming up next week.

Florida hosts Tennessee on Tuesday with a chance to bounce back significantly from its loss at Kentucky, while Georgetown heads on the road to play Marquette and prove whether its 12-2 record is for real. Texas A&M and Oklahoma cross paths on Wednesday in Norman. Cincinnati’s luck in the Big 12 may not improve much as it faces Baylor and then Kansas.
