The heaviest snowfall is expected from midnight Thursday into early Friday morning

Midnight Thursday night through 6 a.m. Friday morning will be the time frame for the heaviest snowfall Wednesday morning, according to the latest models from the National Weather Service.

Winter precipitation will begin Thursday evening and could continue until midday Friday as the system moves east. Central Arkansas is expected to see the greatest impacts with a possible snow depth of 6 to 8 inches. Winter weather warnings and watches have already been activated for these areas.

In north-central Arkansas, models continue to show a high chance of 2 to 4 inches, with areas like Marshall and Mountain View potentially seeing up to 6 inches.

Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico continues to be the determining factor in how much snow will fall, as a southern system interacts with a low pressure system from the west that has fueled wildfires in California.

Stay tuned to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot for the latest weather, cancellations and road conditions.
