The Edmonton Oilers staged a comeback win on Friday night, erasing an early 2-0 deficit en route to an overtime victory against Utah.

They have now taken 13 points from a possible 20 in the last ten games and are continuing to climb up the table after a slow start.

On Saturday they face a team with a similar trajectory, as after a disappointing start to the year, the Colorado Avalanche have found success, winning seven of their last ten games.

My Oilers vs. Avalanche predictions are for this game’s remarkable firepower to shine through in a high-scoring battle between two top teams.

Let’s take a closer look at my NHL picks for November 30th.

My Oilers analysis
The Edmonton Oilers are consistently one of the top scoring teams in the league. It’s a right of passage when you field two generational talents in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

After a slow start to the season, McDavid and Draisaitl are getting the Oilers back on offense.

Edmonton has scored at least three goals in eight of its last nine games. They put the ball in the net 35 times during that span, a total surpassed only by the Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals.

The Oilers are in a good position to keep the gravy train rolling against a Colorado Avalanche team that is struggling to keep the puck out.

The Avs have allowed 3.71 goals per game this season, ranking 30th in the NHL. It’s not so much that they’re loose defensively and need to step up – they’re generally effective in limiting shots and chances. They simply cannot save, which is even more problematic.

Alexandar Georgiev and tonight’s projected starter, Justus Annunen, have a corresponding save percentage of .872 this season. Terrible results.

Starts have been few and far between for Annunen (he’s only gotten the nod three times in the last 11 games), and that’s understandably so. He has allowed at least three goals in five of his last six games and has limited the Philadelphia Flyers’ poor offense to two goals in the only exceptional situation.

Unless Annunen can flip the switch out of nowhere, he will likely be in trouble facing McDavid, Draisaitl and a potent Oilers offense.

The good news for Annunen is that his offense can also help him run. In terms of goals per game, Colorado ranks in the top 10 in offense and is No. 6 in the NHL on the power play.

That’s very impressive considering they’ve dealt with a lot of injuries so far and are just starting to get healthy again.

In this case, expect a lot of attacks.

Bet99

Over 6.5

Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points

Evan Bouchard Over 0.5 points

Connor McDavid has been obsessed with man since returning from injury. He has 20 points in his last nine games and has scored at least two points on seven different occasions. He sprinkles his name on the scoresheet every night.

The NHL’s most dangerous player now faces a Colorado team that has a dead-for-dead goalie percentage of .855 this year. They just can’t manage to be consistent, and McDavid will test them early and often.

Evan Bouchard is a nice correlation piece. He spends much of his 5-on-5 minutes behind McDavid’s line and also runs the top power play at quarterback.

The Avalanche have struggled on the penalty kill of late, ranking fifth in shot suppression and allowing expected and actual goals at an above-average rate. Bouchard is more than capable of taking advantage.
