Multiple forest fires causing havoc in the metropolitan area Los Angeles areaDestruction of homes, businesses and landscapes.

Before and after images provide an insight into the impact of the fires on the city. The Palisade firethe largest in the region, burned over a thousand buildings, including many homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood west of Malibu. The Eaton Fire, the second largest fire, is burning in northern Los Angeles, near Pasadena.

Smaller fires, including the Hurst Fire and the Fire at sunsethave also erupted within the extensive district. Fire officials say the Sunset Fire is contained, and the Hurst and Lidia fires were both partially contained as of Thursday afternoon.
