Thursday’s College Football Playoff Orange Bowl semifinal between No. 6 Penn State and No. 7 Notre Dame was briefly postponed because trash was thrown onto the field at Hard Rock Stadium following a controversial defensive pass interference call against the Irish .

The delay occurred at the 8:48 mark of the fourth quarter when Adon Shuler was called for defensive pass interference on Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. The penalty negated an interception by Jack Kiser on Penn State quarterback Drew Allar.

Two players on the field after the brief delay, Penn State running back Nick Singleton recorded his third rushing touchdown of the night to put the Nittany Lions back in the lead, 24-17.

Here’s another look at the trash being thrown away:

Singleton’s scoring drive was initiated by an interception by Penn State’s Dani Dennis-Sutton, who fended off Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard on first-and-10 for Singleton’s second score of the night.

On its next drive, Notre Dame tied the game 24-24 with a 54-yard touchdown pass from Leonard to Jaden Greathouse.
