Dallas Weather: How much snow fell in North Texas?

Parts of North Texas have already seen significant amounts of snow, with more snowfall expected in the coming hours.

Denton and Collin County saw snow throughout the day, while Tarrant County and Dallas County saw less snow.

Snow totals (as of 9 p.m.)

At least 15cm of snow was reported in areas such as Prosper and Bonham by 9pm

McKinney saw 10 cm of snow.

Plano saw 3 inches of snow and Addison saw a reported 2 inches.

Future snow totals

We have increased our forecast snow amounts across the area.

We now expect 6 to 9 inches of snow to the north and east.

Much of DFW is now in the 2 to 5 inch range, while areas further south may see 1 inch or less visibility.

Temperatures rose slightly above freezing in many cases and most areas experienced rain or sleet with some flakes.

Our precipitation will turn back to snow from west to east after sunset and become heavier overnight.

Most of our areas will see 1 to 3 inches more snow this evening into early Friday morning.

The heaviest snowfall falls in the north and east.

Areas to the south and west will see an inch or less.
