WINTER STORM WARNING for Cobb – Friday morning through Saturday morning

Due to winter weather, county facilities and courts will be closed Friday, January 10th. Click here for details.

The Cobb and Marietta school districts have announced closures. Cobb County Schools. Marietta City Schools.

CobbLinc has suspended service on Friday and Saturday. Click here for details.

• A mix of several types of winter precipitation is expected. Overall, snow and sleet accumulations of up to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to a third of an inch are possible.

• Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slippery and dangerous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree branches can result in widespread, prolonged power outages.

• Please consider postponing all travel.

The Cobb County Department of Transportation will have its road maintenance crews ready to clean and clear more than 430 miles of roadway throughout the county. A few weeks ago, crews conducted their annual inclement weather drill (https://youtu.be/3GnH5qK6Vwg) to prepare for days like this.
