FOR ANOTHER DAY AT HOME AND ANOTHER POTENTIAL SNOW DAY. THAT’S THE THING. THIS LUNCH, RANDI. We’ll make it to the second round. HOW MUCH DO WE THINK? 2 TO 4 INCHES. Okay, so that’s nothing this time. Comparatively, you are like. BUT IN THE CONTEXT OF 2 INCHES IN THE CONTEXT OF THERE ARE PLACES THAT JUST GOT OUT YESTERDAY. RIGHT. Another two inches of snow will be added, and the heaviest snow will fall in the evening. Whatever you plan to do on Friday evening. So let’s take a look. This is a big old snow system. I mean, it affects areas deep into the south. Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia can be seen plunging into the snow. And that will continue into the Carolinas. So snow showers are heading our way. WINTER STORM WARNINGS FOR AREAS SOUTH OF THE WLWT VIEWING AREA. BUT WE CURRENTLY HAVE A WEATHER WARNING FOR THE WEATHER THAT STARTS AT 11:00 AM THIS MORNING AND IS EXPECTED TO END AT OR BEFORE 7 AM ON SATURDAY. SO YOU MAY EXPECT EFFECTS AROUND MIDDAY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TO THE WEST TO THE WEATHER BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE THE SNOWFLAKES ARE Start flying first. As we take a look at what’s happening on the radar right now, it’s pretty quiet. YOU LOOK AT 74 AND THE WILMINGTON RADAR SITES REMOVED THAT PICKS UP A FEW SNOWFLAKES THERE, BUT MANY OF THEM MELT BEFORE THEY MAKE IT TO THE SURFACE. WE SEE THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOW SHOWERS TO REALLY INCREASE CLOSER TO NOON. In a sense, these evaporate before they reach us. ON THE INDIANAPOLIS RADAR LOCATION, YOU ACTUALLY DON’T SEE ANY SIGNIFICANT SNOW UNTIL THE ILLINOIS-INDIANA STATE LINE. So we still have a little time here. Before we get started, let’s take a look at today’s impact from the winter storm. It starts around midday, and that’s kind of a general time frame from late morning to early afternoon. Depending on which part of the city you are in, it will get stronger and spread further in the afternoon. And then as we get into the evening traffic, I think you’re going to see some heavier impacts on the roads and the snow showers will continue until about midnight and then become a little more isolated as we get into the night. So 2 to 4 inches of fresh snow. Expect snow-covered roads and other problems. The later you are outside in the evening. HERE IS THIS MORNING’S FUTURECAST. Clouds begin to form around 7 a.m. The sky is gray but dry. Same thing until about 10:00 a.m. And then you can see the snow showers starting to make their way into southeastern Indiana. Sometime between about 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. AND THEN IT GOES INTO THE 275 LOOP AT 12:00 HOUR. BY MID AFTERNOON 3:00 PM. THERE COULD BE SOME STILL AREAS WHERE YOU ARE, WHERE IS THE SNOW? It’s still heading towards you, and once it gets there it will come down pretty quickly. With temperatures well below freezing and obviously very cold road temperatures, everything sticks. So you’ll start to notice bigger impacts, especially around the time, which is usually RUSH HOUR FIVE on Fridays. The snow is falling pretty well at 6:07 p.m., and that lasts from nine to midnight until about 9 p.m., I think. I’m starting to notice the snow becoming more scattered. And then, after midnight, there will be occasional thunderstorms or light snow. BUT A FEW FLAKES WILL FLY TOMORROW AND IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE ROAD VERSION IN YOUR DISTRICT IF IT AFFECTS YOUR PLANS. ON SATURDAY. The forecast snowfall, no matter where you are in the CINCINNATI metropolitan area, is looking for about 2 to 4 inches of snow. I WOULD LIKE TO SHOW YOU THE PROGRESS HERE AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON BECAUSE THE FIRST FLAKES JUST FLY AT LUNCHTIME. IT’S 4:00 AFTERNOON HERE AND THEY HAVE A DUST OF ABOUT A HALF AN INCH FOR GREATER CINCINNATI, MAYBE ALREADY STARTING TO ENTER AN INCH OR TWO INTO AREAS TO THE WEST. AND THEN UNTIL WE GET INTO THE EVENING COMMUTE, AND AFTER THAT YOU LOOK AT THE BIG SNOWFALL, YOU KNOW, FROM 5:00 PM TO 9:00 PM AND THEN UNTIL WE ARRIVE EARLY MORNING, MOST OF THE PLACES ARE SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN AND ARE BETWEEN 5 and 10 cm of snowfall. THEREFORE, TODAY’S WINTER SNOW WILL HAVE A MINOR IMPACT AT NOON. In the afternoon you start to feel this effect. And you know that you will only notice it on the streets in the evening and at night and it will affect your travels. HERE IS THE 12 HOUR FORECAST STARTING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS. IT WILL BE IN THE LOW 20S THIS MORNING. AND YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE SNOWFLAKES WILL FLY AT LUNCH. Things are a little better in the afternoon and evening. TODAY IS OF COURSE A WEATHER DAY. We have the winter storm. It starts to snow around midday, with the snowfall in most places today at around 25 degrees. HERE IS YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST FOR TOMORROW. A few storms early and again. Road conditions may vary. SATURDAY MORNING, 20°C ALL DAY AND WE MAKE IT TO SUNDAY, MONDAY, AGAIN TO BE ABLE TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL SITE, AN ARCTIC FRONT COMES THROUGH. Yes, there is a chance of snow showers, but these will look like light, isolated snow showers. IT’S REALLY A MAJOR IMPACT WITH THE COLD AIR PASSING BEHIND YOU. I mean, look at those heights, people. TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY NEXT WEEK. OUR HIGHS ARE JUST
