Oregon transfer WR Ryan Pellum was arrested on a nationwide extradition warrant

Former Oregon Wide receivers Ryan Pellum was arrested, according to a report by KEZI. Pellum was arrested after he was accused of pistol-whipping a person on Christmas Day, the television station reported.

According to KEZI, Ryan Pellum was arrested in Springfield, Oregon, on a warrant from his hometown of Long Beach, California. The alleged incident occurred in California.

Ryan Pellum allegedly caused the victim a head injury that required stitches. A nationwide extradition arrest warrant was issued against him. He was reportedly released on bail.

Pellum entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday with a do-not-contact tag. He played sparingly for the Ducks in the 2024 season, appearing in four games and returning a punt while making a tackle on special teams.

Prior to enrolling at Oregon, Ryan Pellum was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 171 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. He was also the 28th receiver in the class and 12th overall player from the state of California coming from Millikan in Long Beach, CA.

Pellum, a Polynesian Bowl participant, caught 66 passes for 991 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2023. His productivity put him on the radar of many top programs, including Oregon.

And he was productive for several years in high school.

As a junior in high school, Ryan Pellum caught 52 passes for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 27 tackles and a kick return touchdown.

He will provide some versatility as a returner to any program that takes him out of the transfer portal.

It was a great season for the Oregon Ducks, despite how it ended. Oregon went through the regular season first undefeated and then beaten Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game.

The Ducks went 13-0 in the College Football Playoff before falling into a slump at Ohio State. The Buckeyes defeated Oregon 41-21 to reach the CFP semifinals.

Now Oregon gets back to work hoping to return to the College Football Playoff in 2025. The Ducks have an excellent roster for next year despite losing Ryan Pellum to the transfer portal.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Pellum after his arrest and whether or not he ends up at another school.
