Steve Sarkisian and his wife Loreal Sarkisian have both had successful careers in football.

While the head coach of the University of Texas at Austin has led his team to the semifinals of the College Playoffs, where they will face Ohio State University on Jan. 10, Loreal has been doing business with their game day outfits.

The couple married in 2020 before announcing their split in the summer of 2024. However, Steve and Loreal appear to have reconciled, and the stylist has appeared in support of the coach throughout the 2024 football season. Steve was previously married to his ex-wife Stephanie before the two divorced in 2016.

“I see him all day, every day, as his authentic self, immersed in his craft, and he’s not just a student of his craft, but a master,” Loreal told WFAA before the playoff game. “It’s important to him. I respect it and appreciate it, knowing how hard he works at it every day and what it actually means to him, especially the journey he’s taken personally and professionally to date.”

As a child she was an athlete

Loreal grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and described himself as a tomboy growing up in a January 2025 interview with WFAA.

Loreal played softball and ran track throughout her childhood, but also always had a passion for fashion.

“I’ve always been a part of the sports world,” she said. “I know people probably only see me as a fashionista and in the fashion industry, but I’ve always been an athlete.”

Loreal is a fashion stylist – and known for her game day suits

Loreal, known as the “First Lady of Texas Longhorn Football,” has captured fans’ attention with her stylish game day look. But she had a long career in fashion before she started going to UT Austin games, she told WFAA.

“I thought, damn, I’ve been doing this for a long time, but okay, great,” she said. “I’m glad you all like it!”

Loreal is a personal stylist who puts together fashion looks for a range of clients, from celebrities to CEOs.

“(I) grew up in an environment of love and support, giving back, nurturing and nurturing relationships, and building self-confidence,” she told WFAA. “That’s why personal style appeals to me more.” It’s not just a job. I’m learning everything about you to make sure you look good and feel good too.”

Steve and Loreal got married in 2020

Although it is unclear how the two met, both worked at the University of Southern California, where Steve was the head football coach from 2013 to 2015. Meanwhile, Loreal was an assistant coach for the track and field team.

Loreal and Steve tied the knot on June 29, 2020. At the time, the coach was the offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama.

To mark their second anniversary in 2022, Loreal penned a sweet tribute to Steve, writing: “Happy anniversary sweetheart. 🤍 If I did anything right in my life, it was when I gave my heart to you! I pray for many more years of love, peace, and happiness! I love you so much 😘.

She is the stepmother of Steve’s three children

Steve welcomed three children from his previous relationship: daughters Taylor and Ashley and son Brady.

Steve’s only son followed in his footsteps and plays college football for none other than his own father. Brady joined the UT Austin football team in 2023, although he did not see any playing time that year, according to his player bio.

They separated in 2024 but seemingly reconciled

In July 2024, Loreal and Steve announced on Instagram that they had separated and were filing for divorce Sports Illustrated. In their statement, they wrote that they needed space to focus on their individual careers.

“After many heartfelt discussions, we have decided to part ways amicably and file for divorce together,” the statement said. “We want to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have received on our journey together.”

It continued: “Due to our commitment to our respective careers, it has been difficult to prioritize time together and this move will give us the time and space we need professionally while continuing to support each other personally.”

However, it appeared the two had reconciled when Loreal began posting with Steve again in December 2024 and showing up on game days to support him.

She helped spruce up Steve’s wardrobe

Although Loreal focuses primarily on dressing herself and her clients, she also spruced up Steve’s wardrobe during the years they were together. However, she admitted, he had good taste from the start.

“His style has evolved. I’m happy for him,” the stylist told WFAA. “Sometimes he did it on his own with a little help. “I try not to take too much credit for being able to dress.”

She continued: “He has style. He has taste. I mean, obviously he caught my attention.”
