Squid Game Season 3: Premiere date, cast and everything else you should know

Squid game Season 3 premiere date

Netflix has announced this Squid game Season 3 will premiere in 2025. On January 1, the streamer released a video with the news and also teased a new character in Season 3: Chul-su, who Hwang previously said was the “Red Light, Green Light” doll Young-hee’s boyfriend.

The wait between seasons will be much shorter since Season 3 has already been filmed. “I wrote seasons 2 and 3 back to back,” Hwang said The Hollywood Reporter. “We filmed them one by one and it’s currently in the post.”

They ran out of ammunition, and after murdering two of the players, Young-il faked his death to return to his original rank as frontman. Hwang told TV Guide he knew that scene would be the final moment of season two. “I had no other candidates for the end, because the frontman’s job is to stop Gi-hun, whose job is to stop the game,” he explained. “And this is a very critical moment in in which the frontman wins in their direct showdown.”

The director continued. “It’s also a moment where the frontman punishes Gi-hun for his act by killing his best friend,” Hwang said. “That’s why I thought this would be the best moment to end the second season, especially since Gi-hun goes through another character change after this event in the season.”

Squid game Season 3 cast

Netflix hasn’t confirmed who is returning Squid game Season 3, but we can make some guesses based on the Season 2 finale. Lee Jung-jae was supposed to come back as Gi-hun and Lee Byung-hun as the frontman. And since the majority of players introduced in Season 2 survived, we also expect the following:
