Following the store closures announced by Joann Fabrics, Kohl’s plans to close 27 “underperforming stores” across the country, including two in Ohio.

“We always take these decisions very seriously,” Kohl Chief Executive Tom Kingsbury said in a statement. “As we continue to expand our long-term growth strategy, it is important that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams.”

Employees were offered severance pay or the opportunity to apply for other open positions at Kohl’s.

Kohl plans to close two stores in the Cincinnati area

According to the company, the two Kohl’s locations scheduled to close in Ohio are in the Greater Cincinnati area. They are:

Blue ash: 4150 Hunt Rd
Forest Park (Cincinnati): 100 Cincinnati Mills Dr.
