Latest information about possible changes to the Los Angeles Card

UFC 311 is currently scheduled for Saturday, January 18th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. However, as the California wildfires continue to rage and impact the area, the possibility of moving the event elsewhere has been discussed.

According to longtime martial arts journalist Ariel Helwani, there are several important updates and details about the impact of the wildfires on the event.

“UFC has had discussions regarding the status of UFC 311 next weekend, I’m told,” Helwani wrote in an X post on Friday, January 10.

“UFC 311 is currently scheduled for the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Clearly, this region is currently facing a devastating wildfire crisis. The NFL announced yesterday that they are moving the Rams x Vikings playoff game scheduled for Monday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood to Glendale, Arizona. Currently, 311 is housed at Intuit. The hope is that it stays there. But they are monitoring the situation and are ready to move the map if necessary. No talks about delaying the card. Obviously that call needs to be made soon. The event is still eight days away. Vegas would be the front runner. Noteworthy: The T-Mobile Arena is not fully booked next Saturday, January 18th.”

The move probably wouldn’t cause too much inconvenience to the fighters involved on the card. The flight from LAX to Las Vegas International Airport takes approximately one hour and 15 minutes. With the UFC’s Performance Institute also located in Las Vegas, athletes featured on the card will likely receive additional assistance in preparing at the PI

The UFC would likely have to refund tickets to fans who have already purchased a seat at the Intuit Dome. For fans able to see the fight in Vegas, some sort of transfer could be handled if it were postponed.

The fans who planned to attend the event will be the most affected as most will likely miss the opportunity to watch the event live.

More importantly, White and the UFC have already pledged and volunteered support to the people and regions affected by the wildfires. White took to social media to make it clear that he and the UFC were at the service of the region.

We hope that the wildfires will be brought under control sooner rather than later, and if the people of Los Angeles can enjoy the UFC’s presence in their region following this natural disaster, hopefully the event will be a positive change from the harsh reality.
