The Los Angeles Chargers were the favorites on the road during NFL Wild Card Weekend, but star quarterback Justin Herbert didn’t let that momentum get in the way of his privacy.

Daniel Popper of The Athletic reported that Chargers staff helped Herbert clear the CBS cameras from the pregame crowd.

The move likely came after Amazon Prime Video aired Herbert’s pregame speech during the final nationally televised game in Los Angeles in Week 16.

Before the Week 16 game, Herbert rallied his teammates with a hyped-up, profanity-filled pep talk — and the cameras caught it all.

“You know what time it is,” shouted Herbert. “Do this together.”

As a teammate smiled, Herbert jokingly asked him, “What the hell are you laughing about?”

That night, the Chargers got a much-needed win over the Denver Broncos and gained a lead over the No. 5 seed.

Although there was a lot of betting on Los Angeles this week following a poor finish to the Houston Texans’ season, Herbert didn’t overlook his opponent.

We’ll never know what Herbert said to rally his boys this time, but they’ll need every ounce of motivation and energy to get the away playoff win in Houston.
