Houston Texans score a pick-six TD on a massive mistake by Justin Herbert

The Houston Texans got off to a very slow start in today’s AFC Wild Card match against the Los Angeles Chargers. It took them most of the first half to score their first point, which came on a touchdown pass from CJ Stroud just before halftime.

Now they are going full throttle and giving themselves a very good chance of winning and getting promoted.

With 13 seconds left in the third quarter, the Texans defense came through with a huge play. Leading 13-6, Eric Murray picked off Justin Herbert and returned the favor 38 yards for a touchdown to extend the lead to 20-6.

Take a look at the decisive move for yourself:

Going into today’s game, the plan for the Houston defense was clear. They wanted to put Herbert under pressure and force him to make quick decisions. The key was to force a turnover or two.

So far, the Texans have been able to implement this game plan.

Houston only sacked Herbert twice, but they put a lot of pressure on him. They also beat him twice, which is a big reason they have a 14-point lead.

With only a quarter left, Houston should smell the smell of blood in the water. They simply need to continue executing the game plan, which they have been executing at a near-perfect level so far.

Hopefully the defense will be able to keep the pressure on Herbert. On offense, CJ Stroud and Co. simply need to be able to move the football, run the clock and put a few more points on the field.

DeMeco Ryans and the Texans are closing in on a major upset, at least based on what the national media is saying leading up to tonight’s game.
