Joe Mixon carried the ball 25 times for 106 yards in the Houston Texans’ 32-12 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL’s first wild-card game this weekend. He recovered two early fumbles and tied it with a 17-yard touchdown run. For these efforts, he was honored with Nickelodeon’s prestigious NVP Award.

Mixon seemed to know he would be honored with hardware, donning a slime helmet in celebration on the sideline after scoring.

Honestly, it looked pretty solid.

Mixon accepted the award from Nickelodeon sideline reporter Dylan Schefter and shared his thoughts on the moment. There was also some PG language involved.

“It’s just an incredible feeling,” Mixon said.

“The guys up front, the receivers, the tight ends, they all played their asses off today,” Mixon later added.

A lot of history was made on Saturday. It will take me some time to understand everything. Especially the wild final 15 minutes and 13 seconds of the game, which featured three Justin Herbert interceptions and a bizarre two-point return.
