Former NFL quarterback is urging Mike Tomlin to consider leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky believes Mike Tomlin should be against a move from the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the Chicago Bears not ruling out action from their new head coach. Bears general manager Ryan Poles said a trade may be necessary to land the next head coach, and that could be Tomlin.

However, Tomlin has a no-trade clause in his contract, and that would complicate any plans the Bears have to acquire him. However, Orlovsky says it shouldn’t matter. If he were Tomin, he would seriously consider leaving the Steelers.

“Should Mike Tomlin consider leaving the Steelers for the Bears? Sure,” Orlovsky said on First Take. “Because you didn’t get me a quarterback. Now, do I think the Steelers should consider trading Mike Tomlin? Because I saw it. “In my opinion, that’s obviously the stupidest thing I’ve heard in the NFL this season.”

Tomlin hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016, and that has led to growing frustration. The Steelers have been under pressure to win a playoff game as team president Art Rooney II said the organization was “tiring” of last season’s postseason drought.

Even with a loss to the Ravens, it’s almost certain that Tomlin will return after signing a new three-year extension this summer. A trade also seems unlikely since Tomlin is happy in Pittsburgh and the Steelers seem happy with Tomlin coaching their team.
