Troian Bellisario and Brandon Larracuente portray Traci Harmon and Alex Diaz in On callthe first scripted streaming series from Wolf Entertainment. All episodes of the first season are now available to stream on Prime Video.

On call is an adrenaline-pumping and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo on patrol in Long Beach, California. Filmed using a mix of handheld cameras, bodycam and dash cam footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.

“I think of the first day Diaz meets Harmon, shortly after experiencing the tragic loss of not only a colleague, but a friend. And then (there’s) a point in the series where Harmon is about to make a decision that could change her career and the course of her life, and she gives Diaz the opportunity to basically sit out that decision because it is something she needs to pursue, but she will give him the choice of whether he wants to pursue it with her. I feel like in that moment the two characters from different walks of life become one and start to really work in unison towards a common goal,” Larracuente concluded.

“Those are really beautiful moments and yeah, that moment that you’re talking about where she says, ‘You can ride this out, you’re either with me 100% or you’re not,’ because from that moment on, especially when she “If you say you want to move on right away, you have to be partners,” Bellisario continued. “She can’t be above him. They have to deal with this scenario on absolute equal terms, and I think that’s a really nice way that it’s like there’s no hierarchy. It puts them on the same level. And then there’s another really wonderful moment, in my opinion, where Harmon really tries to keep Diaz at arm’s length for as long as possible in the series, for his own protection and for her own protection. I think that given the loss she’s suffered, she’s thinking, ‘I’m not going to do that again.’ I want to make sure he’s safe, but I can’t let him get too close.’ Then we find out about his family and we find out about her family and there’s this really incredible moment where he sees exactly this crack in her and it’s really wonderful because at that point she hadn’t helped him like that, how he would like it to be, but he still holds out his hand and says, “Let me help with this.” It’s an incredible moment because she trusts him. She’s confiding in him something that I don’t think she wants anyone to witness.”
