Former Georgia Bulldog Ladd McConkey makes NFL history in the playoffs

Former Georgia Bulldog and current Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey just etched his name in the history books.

The Georgia Bulldogs are known for their ability to produce quality players at the NFL level, and this year’s Dawgs rookie class certainly showcased that sentiment. Numerous rookie Dawgs have rewritten NFL history books this season, and another former Bulldog just added his name to that prestigious list.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey made history tonight when he broke the league record for receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game. McConkey finished the night with nine catches for 197 yards and a receiving touchdown. Unfortunately for the rookie, the historic performance was his last of the season, as the Chargers were defeated by the Texas 32-12 in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

McConkey finished his rookie season with 82 catches for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns, putting together a series of exciting highlight plays for both Charger and Bulldog fans to enjoy all season long. While it’s always unfortunate when the season ends in defeat, the future looks extremely bright for this former Bulldog.
