Liam Payne texted his friend and designated carer about drug use and sex with prostitutes just hours before his death – and prosecutors wanted to charge the pal with “abandonment” for failing to save him from his increasing drug abuse.

Argentine businessman Roger Nores, 35, one of three men charged in connection with the One Direction star’s death after he fell from a hotel balcony in a drug-induced stupor last month, contacted Payne a total of three times a day died, Argentine prosecutors claim in court documents obtained by TMZ.

Around 7 a.m. on Oct. 16, an already drunk Payne texted Nores and said, “Dude, I think I’m going to fuck a hooker,” prosecutors said. About two and a half hours later, Payne texted him and asked for “6 grams” – presumably meaning cocaine.

Payne and Nores had breakfast together at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne drank whiskey. Afterward, Payne went back to his trashed hotel room and frantically searched for a “powder,” according to a maid who was in the room.

Around 11:30 p.m., two prostitutes showed up at Payne’s room and had sex with him, they told police. He also asked her for cocaine because he was completely out of control.

Later, around 2 p.m., he asked a hotel employee for “another 7 grams for today.”

Nores left Payne’s room shortly after 4 p.m., and around the same time, hotel staff reported hearing Payne smashing things. Someone from the hotel tried to call Nores, but he didn’t answer.

When the prostitutes demanded payment, Payne freaked out and punched the television. Nores returned to the hotel around 3:45 p.m. to pay the women. At this point, staff noticed that the singer appeared “visibly drunk.”

Nores texted Payne, “Are you okay?” at 4:25 p.m., but the star didn’t respond.

Nores has maintained that Payne appeared to be fine when he left him at the hotel about an hour before he fell from the balcony, sources close to Nores told TMZ.

Shortly before Payne’s fatal fall, a hotel employee called 911 and said they feared for his safety after having to drag him through the hotel lobby and lock him in his room. The employee stated that he could injure himself if he escaped over the balcony.

Nores was charged with abandonment for allegedly failing to inform the musician’s family that he had suffered a drug relapse. He testified as a witness, leading a judge to rule that he had allegedly breached his duty of care to Payne.

Authorities interviewed Payne’s father, who said Nores volunteered in May to become Payne’s caretaker and arrange for him to go to rehab, the documents said.

Payne’s father said it is important for Payne to always stay busy and never be alone in his recovery.

Earlier this month, Nores said he “never let Liam down.”

“I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened,” he said.

“When I left there were over 15 people in the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him.”

The prosecutors who drafted the court document are national prosecutors. However, a judge ruled that any case involving alleged “abandonment” must be handled by local prosecutors, meaning they have no legal recourse to pursue the charges, TMZ reported.

To date, no charges have been filed by local prosecutors. National prosecutors appealed the judge’s ruling, but the appeal was rejected.
