The ’90s star reveals the storyline she used to raise her three sons

Melissa Joan Hart says there is Sabrina, the teenage witch She finds this episode particularly educational for her children.

“My favorite episode is the pancake episode because I got to dumpster dive. “I was craving pancakes and syrup and was having hallucinations,” Hart – who played Sabrina Spellman on the series from 1996 to 2003 – said during a press conference Sabrina, the teenage witch Panel at the 90s Con in Dayton Beach, Florida, in September.

“It’s the only episode I’ve seen a few times,” Hart, 48, added.

The reason? It’s a lesson for her three sons – Mason, 18, Braydon, 16, and Tucker, 12 – who she shares with husband Mark Wilkerson.

“I show my kids this every time I try to explain addiction. That’s why you should never smoke cigarettes,” the actress explained with a laugh.

In the third season episode, it is revealed that no wizard can resist the taste of pancakes. Sabrina’s aunts Hilda and Zelda (played by Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick, respectively) inform her of a possible addiction to the breakfast staple. She ignores the warning and takes her first bite – only to think about the treat for the rest of the episode.

In an interview with ViceHart continued her lesson on addiction, saying that drugs don’t make anyone happy.

“Not in the long term. Absolutely not. I think they are a quick fix and a long-term problem,” he said Clarissa explains everything Star said at the time. “There’s a lot in my book about wilder times, but I’m a safe person and always have to feel responsible for myself and others around me. If I had a rebellion, it was a cautious one.”

In her 2013 memoir Melissa explains everythingHart detailed her drug use in the ’90s. It involved an experiment with ecstasy at the Playboy Mansion.

“I was a little shy, so I actually rolled around with some friends and did some ecstasy,” she said. “I was so excited. I was so nervous. It was so scary.”

Hart most recently starred alongside Joey Lawrence on the ABC Family sitcom Melissa & Joey and several life TV movies. She also raised her three boys.

“They’re going to be huge,” she told PEOPLE in April 2022. “My oldest is driving and it’s really annoying.”

Earlier this year, Hart shared photos and videos on Instagram from Mason’s high school prom experience — and revealed his date witchy Connection.

“The 2024 prom is set! Mason and his beautiful girlfriend Sabrina (yes, that’s her name) had a lovely evening celebrating the end of an era! #MasonDatesSabrina,” she captioned the post.
