The Eagles force the turnover on the opening play, Jahan Dotson scores a TD

PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles couldn’t have imagined a better start.

On the opening kickoff of the wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, linebacker Oren Burks drilled All-Pro returner Keisean Nixon and forced a fumble that was recovered by Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Burks was a third-round draft pick of the Packers in 2018 and played four seasons for Green Bay.

Three plays later, quarterback Jalen Hurts — returning from a concussion that sidelined him the last two games — found a wide-open Jahan Dotson in the back of the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown that gave the home team a 7-0 lead took the lead. It was Dotson’s first touchdown of the season or postseason.

Hurts’ time to throw the touchdown pass was 6.75 seconds. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, this is the second longest TD he has ever had in his career (regular season or postseason).
