After working for NBC News since 1998, Hoda made her Today Debut as one of the first co-hosts of the show’s fourth hour. She hosted the segment along with co-hosts Ann Curry And Natalie Morales.

October 2007: Hoda announces her breast cancer diagnosis

One month after they were made Today In her debut, Hoda opened up about her journey battling breast cancer. After her gynecologist discovered a lump during an annual exam in March 2007, she later underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery to treat the condition.

“This is an incredible platform to be able to help people. Now I walk down Broadway and women hug me – and many have been through much worse,” she explained at the time People. “My God, no matter what you’ve been through, someone has been through worse, and it’s our responsibility as people to help people.”

August 2014: Hoda turns 50!

To celebrate a big birthday, Hoda met with him Today Fans for an on-air party at Rockefeller Plaza. As part of the celebration, she received a three-layer cake and a ride to work in a 1964 Mustang driven by an actor Dean Cainand she hosted a dance party with a DJ Lil Jon.

2017: Hoda becomes a mother

2018: Hoda becomes co-host of “Today.”

When Matt Lauer was fired from NBC at the end of 2017, Savannah Guthrie announced that Hoda would be taking his place and becoming her co-host from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. She made her official debut in January 2018 and remained in the role until her exit in January 2025.

Two years after adopting Haley, Hoda announced Today the birth of her second daughter, Hope Catherine. At the time of the big reveal, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her gratitude for all the messages she received.

April 2019: Kathie Lee says goodbye to “Today”

After sitting next to Hoda for 11 years, Kathie Lee left Today in April 2019. Her final episode featured lots of laughter, tears, and kind words about how much Hoda’s support meant to her.

“God brought Hoda into my life for a variety of reasons,” Kathie Lee said at the time, according to TODAY.com. “I should learn from her. She should learn from me. We should share life together.”

May 2019: Hoda wins a Daytime Emmy

In May 2019, Hoda won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host along with Kathie Lee. The latter called Today after the duo’s victory, and Hoda had some amazing words about the experience.

“This was kind of the last Emmy Awards for our show,” Hoda said, according to TODAY.com. “The fact that you were standing on that stage and holding that hardware was so amazing. This is how you put a period at the end of a sentence.”

September 2023: Hoda officiates a wedding
