Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown turned heads Sunday night in the team’s playoff win over the Green Bay Packers for sitting on the bench.

In the fourth quarter, Brown was sitting on the bench among his teammates when the FOX broadcast caught him pulling out a book to read.

“I haven’t seen too many people reading books, but I have seen a quarterback eating a hot dog,” Tom Brady noted, referring to former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez’s viral moment during his playing days.

The title of the book happened to be heard on the show: “Inner Excellence: Train your mind for extraordinary achievements and the best possible life.” The book was written by Jim Murphy.

“Whether you are an athlete or an entrepreneur, a single mother or a father of five, in this book you will find exercises, techniques and tools that will improve every area of ​​your life,” the book’s description reads. “Your life will take on new meaning when you move beyond the pursuit of happiness to a life of meaning and fulfillment.”

Brown said he brings the book to the sidelines every week after the game.

“It gives me a sense of peace,” he said on NFL Network. “This is a book that I bring to every single game. My teammates call it a recipe. … There are a lot of points in there. A lot of mental game.”

Golf star Stewart Cink and PGA Tour coach Matt Killen are both quoted in support of Murphy’s book, according to the Amazon page.

“My No. 1 tip for success: Read ‘Inner Excellence’ by Jim Murphy,” Cink is quoted as saying.

“I read the first version of ‘Inner Excellence’ six times. I recommend that all my clients read them,” Killen is quoted as saying.
