A dense fog warning has been issued for parts of Palm Beach County

WARNING METEOROLOGIST VANESSA VANETTE WITH MORE ABOUT THIS FOG. AND good morning. YOU CAN SEE THAT VISIBILITY ACTUALLY DECLINES LESS THAN A QUARTER OF A MILE, EVEN LESS THAN A MILE HIGHER TOWARD INDIAN RIVER COUNTY IN NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY WEST OF TURNPIKE AND HIGH TOWARDS OKEECHOBEE COUNTY. THERE YOU CAN SEE THE THICKEST FOG EARLY THIS MORNING. YOU CAN SEE ALL THE FOG developing and pushing south across our inland communities, Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches. AND THE FOG WILL LIKELY LIP UP BY 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM IN THE MORNING IN SOME AREAS, BY 10:00 AM IN THE INLAND PALM BEACH COUNTY AS ALL THE FOG SLOWLY MOVES SOUTHEAST OVER WEST PALM AND BOCA RATON , MAINLY WEST OF THE HIGHWAYS. SO THAT’S WHAT WE HAVE WITH INFLUENCE WEATHER. WE HAVE DENSE FOG ALL OVER THE TREASURE COAST, INCLUDING OKEECHOBEE COUNTY AND INSIDE PALM BEACH COUNTY, WEST OF STATE ROAD 7 FROM JUPITER AND DOWN TO BOCA RATON. In the meantime, in addition to the fog, we’re also dealing with a cold front moving into the Big Bend of Florida, producing some clouds and some fog. There may be a few showers later this evening, but we’ll see more sunshine once the fog clears around 11:00 a.m. and temperatures today will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s, but a nice cool down on the way. The Florida Highway Patrol issued a travel advisory Thursday morning for Interstate-95 in Palm Beach Gardens and the Turnpike in West Palm Beach. The warning urges motorists to use caution when traveling on northbound highways through thick fog near Northlake and Okeechobee boulevards. Poor visibility due to dense fog is affecting morning commutes in inland Palm Beach County, Okeechobee County and the Treasure Coast Thursday morning. WPBF Chief Certified Meteorologist Cris Martinez predicted dense fog would develop over Lake Okeechobee and inland locations overnight. A dense fog advisory was issued for inland Palm Beach County until 10 a.m. and a warning for Okeechobee, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties expired before 9 a.m. FHP has also issued travel warnings in Brevard, Lee, Hillsborough, Collier, Sarasota, Charlotte and Osceola counties due to fog.
