Shortly after operations resumed at Sky Harbor Airport following a shooting and stabbing investigation, an arrest occurred in Terminal 4 – but police say it was unrelated to the earlier incident.

“This man received a text message stating that he believed there was an active shooter in Sky Harbor,” said Sgt. Mayra Reeson of the Phoenix Police Department.

He later arrived at the scene with weapons and got into an altercation with an officer.

“A relative at the airport told him that there had been a shooting earlier in the evening. The man, later identified as 21-year-old Cole Nenon, handed his firearms to other people at the airport before approaching an officer who was stationed.” “Outside the shooting, Nenon appeared angry and began yelling at the officer , as he approached him. However, the officer was unable to bring the man to the ground and arrest him,” said in a release.

Police say Nenon punched and spit on an officer and has been charged with aggravated assault.

According to the report, three firearms were seized and seized as evidence.

According to investigators, the man was arrested and will be taken to prison.
