A month after her disappearance at LAX drove her father to suicide, Hannah Kobayashi has been found “safe.”

Hannah Kobayashi has been found safe and has reconnected with her family, relatives revealed.

According to a statement shared with DailyMail.com, the Hawaii woman contacted her relatives on Wednesday to let them know she was OK.

“We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah was found safe and sound,” the statement said.

“The last month has been an unimaginable ordeal for our family and we kindly ask for privacy as we take the time to heal and process everything we have been through.”

“We would like to thank everyone who supported us during this difficult time.” “Your kindness and care meant a lot to us.”

Kobayashi disappeared at LAX on November 8 while traveling from her home in Hawaii to NYC for a “bucket list” trip.

Her father flew to Los Angeles to help search for her and ultimately committed suicide.

Earlier this month, the LAPD reported that Kobayashi entered Mexico voluntarily.

However, her family continued to contradict police in public statements and said they still did not know whether Kobayashi was safe.

According to investigators, Kobayashi “knowingly” left the airport before using her passport and cash to purchase a bus ticket to the U.S.-Mexico border. She was later caught on surveillance footage crossing into Tijuana on foot between November 12 and 13.

Police completed an investigation into her whereabouts after determining she was “voluntarily missing.”

Her family claimed they only saw the surveillance footage showing her crossing the border into Mexico on December 2nd.

Kobayashi’s relatives faced backlash after police announced she was not missing because they had raised money for the search.

The family said it was out of character for Kobayashi to go to Mexico and they were still trying to contact her.

Even after police closed the investigation, the family said the search for Kobayashi was “far from over and they are committed to doing everything they can to bring her home safely.”

“We are deeply grateful for the urgency and commitment shown by law enforcement in the investigation of Hannah’s disappearance,” said a statement posted online by NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin.

“Our family remains hopeful that Hannah is safe and encourages everyone to continue the search.”

“We want answers and a solution that ensures Hannah’s safety and urge law enforcement and the public to remain focused on finding her and avoid drawing speculative conclusions.”

“It is critical to raise awareness and share verified information about her case, and we greatly appreciate your continued support in these efforts.”

The family then confirmed reports that they were investigating the possibility that she was involved in a green card marriage scam leading up to her disappearance.

Last week, sources told LA Mag that she had apparently been cheated out of proceeds from a green card visa program.

The outlet said that Kobayashi and her then-partner landed at LAX and planned to board their connecting flight, with her legal husband and his partner also on board.

LA Mag reports that the fraud was uncovered by Kobayashi’s mother, who found documents listing a lawyer for her daughter’s marriage, which she turned over to law enforcement.

In a statement from family lawyer Sara Azari, she said the family does not have “the facts or necessary documents” to verify the so-called “alleged marriage.”

Their statement said: “This is one of many leads we are actively investigating with the help of our legal and investigative team.”

“We would also like to confirm that we forwarded the alleged information to law enforcement immediately upon receipt.”
