LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – There will be intermittent rain and some thunderstorms this afternoon. Some strong wind gusts, reaching speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour, are also possible at times. There is a WAVE weather alert day for poor driving conditions with heavy rain/wind and rush hour times. Today’s rain will sweep out of the region this evening as a cold front pushes east. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 centimeters are expected. Tomorrow morning the clouds will clear as temperatures drop to over 30°C.

On Tuesday we can look forward to sunny skies and mild temperatures. Highs will climb into the 50s tomorrow afternoon. Clouds will increase tomorrow evening before more rain on Wednesday morning. Increasing clouds and possible rain will keep low temperatures in the 40s overnight.

The chance of rain will be highest on Wednesday morning before it gradually dries out in the second half of the day. It will be significantly colder at the end of the week. Highs in the 30s are expected this weekend.
