A running list of Los Angeles restaurants affected by the 2025 wildfires

On January 7, amid life-threatening winds over Los Angeles, multiple wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades, later spreading to Malibu and Eaton Canyon near Altadena.

The Palisades Fire had quickly expanded to nearly 3,000 acres as of 7:30 p.m. Officials have issued a mandatory evacuation order starting at Santa Monica’s northern border and extending to Topanga Canyon and Mulholland Boulevard. ABC News estimates 30,000 people will be evacuated and 10,000 homes are at risk. The fire has since spread to Malibu, destroying longtime restaurants and bars in its path, including Reel Inn, Cholada Thai and Rosenthal Wine Bar.

The Eaton Canyon fire was first reported around 6:30 p.m., but authorities have already declared a mandatory evacuation throughout Altadena and surrounding neighborhoods.

On the evening of January 7th, Mayor Karen Bass declared a state of emergency for Los Angeles in response to the numerous fires.

There are numerous restaurants in both regions. As Eater confirms fire-related closures and affected restaurants, this list will be updated.

Malibu

  • Reel Inn – Destroyed by fire damage
  • Cholada Thai – Destroyed by fire damage
  • Rosenthal Winery – Destroyed by fire damage
  • Duke’s Malibu – The closure was confirmed on Instagram on January 7th

Pacific Palisades/Santa Monica

  • Giorgio Baldi – Confirmed closed on Instagram on January 7th
  • The Modern Bread and Bagel – Santa Monica and Woodland Hills locations will close on January 8th
  • Petit Grain – Confirmed on Instagram that the restaurant will be closed on January 8th
  • Muse – Closure was confirmed via Instagram direct message and closed on January 8th

Highland Park

  • Mala Class – Due to power outages, it was confirmed on Instagram that it was closed on January 7th
  • Ggiata – Confirmed power outages on Instagram
  • Joy – On January 7th it was confirmed on Instagram that the evening service was closed

Altadena

  • Good Neighbor Bar – Confirmed closed on Instagram on January 7th
