Actress Shailene Woodley said she kept quiet about her past relationship with ex-fiancé Aaron Rodgers because it made her cry.

In an interview with Outside magazine, the “Divergent” star opened up about her and the Jets quarterback’s relationship, which ended in early 2022.

“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because she always makes me cry,” she said of Rodgers in rare comments, while the author noted her eyes watering. “It wasn’t right. But it was beautiful.”

Woodley, 33, and Rodgers, 41, called off their engagement in February 2022, just over a year after they made their relationship public. They separated again in April.

“Something really terrible and traumatic happened to me in early 2022,” Woodley said, without elaborating on her trauma.

“I felt like I had lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy. I truly understood depression, anxiety and complete soul detachment.”

Woodley explained that she chose to stay in a “toxic situation” because she had compassion for “someone else.”

Woodley did not identify that person by name, adding, “Empathy kind of kept me in this loop of feeling everything for everyone.”

Woodley recalled that six months after her traumatic experience, her depression began to subside and that her stylist Kris Zero helped her overcome her low point.

“I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and didn’t feel anything. That was the lowest point of my life,” Woodley said, adding that Zero woke her up every morning after that with music to get her out of bed.

“Sometimes I was so angry with her,” Woodley said. “But then we went surfing and for ten minutes that day I thought life might be okay again. Then the depression came back and she said, “We volunteer at the horse ranch!” And we randomly picked a damn horse farm and cleaned up the horse poop. We cleaned the hooves and brushed the horses, and for 20 minutes that day I thought life might be okay again. And then the depression came back and she woke me up the next morning and said, ‘Let’s go for a hike and bring trash bags and clean up the trash!'”

The actress and the Super Bowl champion are now believed to be single.

“One of my biggest dreams is to become a mother,” Woodley added.
