Abhijeet Bhattacharya says he doesn't care who Dua Lipa is after her 'Levitating x Woh Ladki Jo' mashup went viral:

Pop sensation Dua Lipa’s recent concert in Mumbai won the hearts of her fans in India as she performed a ‘Levitating x’ Woh Ladki Jo‘ mash up. After the clip went viral on social media, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya said he was upset that social media was celebrating Dua Lipa and Shah Rukh Khan but not the real singers of the Hindi song ‘Woh Ladki Jo’. He now shared that he doesn’t care who Dua Lipa is, but she could have given credit to the original creators of the song.
In a recent interview with News18, Abhijeet expressed his opinion that singer Dua Lipa should have mentioned the team behind the song during her performance. He stressed that the song from the 1999 film “Baadshah” is one of composer Anu Malik’s “best” works. “It’s the greatest song of his life. Dua Lipa should have said it (allegedly). She also creates songs. Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar and I created this song,” said Abhijeet.
The singer further shared that he doesn’t care who Dua Lipa is, but the song was popular before her performance. “She may or may not take my name, but when she recited it on stage I was inundated with calls. People heard it. She can’t even call anyone by name; The pronunciation would be wrong. What difference does it make? On the contrary, it made the song even more popular. It was popular before and is still popular today,” he added.

After Dua’s video went viral on the internet, Abhijeet’s son Jay Bhattacharya posted a long note on Instagram criticizing Dua Lipa for not mentioning his father and Anu Malik. However, Abhijeet expressed that he doesn’t mind not getting any recognition as long as people like the song. He defended his son and made it clear that there was no ill intention behind his post and that Jay just wanted his father to get recognition.
Jay wrote: “Unfortunately, we live in a country where no news outlet or Instagram page has mentioned the voice and artists of this song. Why has this country always been about actors? I am sure when @dualipa heard this song she must have heard it and not seen it and didn’t appreciate the man who sang this song and yes it is not SRK.”
‘Woh Ladki Jo’ from Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Baadshah’ was originally sung by Abhijeet, with lyrics by Neeraj Vora and composition by Anu Malik.

Previously, Dua had expressed her admiration for Shah Rukh Khan and met King Khan during her visit to India in 2019. Anyway, Abhijeet made it clear that he has no issues with Shah Rukh Khan, but he is worried about artistes not getting recognition these days. “
