Adam Thielen honors Randy Moss by wearing a jersey after revealing he has cancer

Adam Thielen now plays for the Panthers, but arrived at Sunday’s home game wearing a Vikings throwback jersey.

Thielen, a two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with Minnesota from 2014 to 2022, donned a No. 84 Vikings jersey to honor Hall of Famer Randy Moss, who announced earlier this week that he was undergoing cancer treatment.

NBC published the photo on X, along with another of Thielen wearing a Moss jersey as a child.

The 47-year-old Moss, currently an ESPN studio analyst, played for the Vikings from 1998 to 2004 and again in 2010 in a 14-year NFL career with five teams.

Moss announced on Instagram Live on Friday that he is “a cancer survivor” after undergoing surgery earlier this month to remove a mass found in his bile duct between his pancreas and liver.

ESPN announced on Dec. 6 that he would be “stepping away from “Sunday NFL Countdown” for an extended period of time to focus on a personal health challenge.

Thielen tweeted that day: “Praying for you @RandyMoss and your family!”

Thielen missed more than two months earlier this season with a hamstring injury, but he totaled 17 balls for 201 yards in the last two weeks in Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
