Demand for Kobe Bryant’s shoe collection has grown so much that Nike was forced to launch Kobe Brand, an official subdivision of its basketball category dedicated to celebrating the legacy of the Black Mamba. Even adidas is responding to the demand by bringing back the original Kobe models from its Adi era, and this February the three stripes could have the most wanted pair of Kobes at All-Star Weekend.

However, it is important to note that the shoes are no longer officially Kobe signature shoes. Instead, adidas has renamed the entire series the Crazy line, and the Kobe 2 Retro you see here has been appropriately renamed the Crazy 2.

Sneaker News first reported the news of the retro in June; Today we have official images of the upcoming adidas Crazy 2 “All-Star” in its original White/Yellow/Black color combination. This was the last official signature shoe for Kobe before he cut ties with the German brand and eventually signed with Nike.

The Kobe 2 was inspired by the Audi TT, the two-door roadster known for its avant-garde design. With a molded upper, seamless construction and an extremely smooth finish, the Kobe 2 boasts a highly polarizing design, having both staunch supporters and vocal critics. Despite being ahead of his time, Kobe reportedly hated the sneaker, which motivated him to back out of the contract and eventually begin the infamous sneaker free agency era.

Regardless, adidas will release the Crazy 2 around All-Star Weekend for $160. The Silver/Black color variant is also expected to release.
